Should your prescription be taxed? Then why should medical marijuana be taxed? I am all for paying taxes, but not when it is on medication. Medical Marijuana is medicine and should no be taxed. If the State of California wants to tax marijuana, then they need to pass it for recreational use, like in Colorado.
States see all the tax revenue that Colorado had brought in since the state passed the recreational marijuana law and wants to see that same revenue for themselves, but California cannot do it on the backs of patients.
The vast number of illnesses, conditions and diseases that marijuana helps is long and more are being added as they are discovered. Cancer patient rely on it to help with symptoms from chemotherapy. Some cancer patience have use medical marijuana to cure their cancer and continue to take to prevent it from coming back. Arthritis suffers rely on it to help with pain, so they do not have to use opioids, which are addictive and deadly (Prince died due to opioid usage). Pain killers kill the pain through addiction and death. So, if people choose to use medical marijuana to combat pain, rather than using opioids, then they should be rewarded!! Let not penalize them by taxing their medication making it more expensive and difficult to get, so they have to turn to the opioids.
We need to keep fighting for what is right. Taxation on medications is not right and everyone needs to voice that to their legislatures where medical marijuana is legal.
